Auditions for Peter and the Starcatcher and Antigone will take place on Monday, April 24 from 1:00p -9:00p in the Studio Theatre of RTFP.

Students can audition for both shows OR just one of their choosing.

There are two steps to signing up to audition. You must complete both of these:

STEP ONE:

Sign up for an AUDITION APPOINTMENT using the SUBMIT AND SIGN UP tab on Sign up Genuis. We will be seeing actors in groups of THREE every 15 minutes.

STEP TWO:

Email your headshot and resume to TheatreAuditions@unt.edu

STEP THREE:

You are to bring a hard copy of your headshot and resume to the audition (one for each show for which you are auditioning). The professional standard for your headshot and resume is as follows:

an 8x10 headshot

your resume TRIMMED DOWN TO 8x10

both items attached back to back, stapled top and bottom

WHAT TO PREPARE:

*IF YOU ARE AUDITIONING FOR BOTH SHOWS, YOU ARE TO PREPARE:

Two monologues of one minute or less each. At least one of these monologues must be a classical monologue. Please respect time limits. By "classical," the director means the Greeks through Moliere and Restoration.

**IF YOU ARE ONLY AUDITIONING FOR PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, YOU ARE TO PREPARE:

Two monologues of one minute or less. Please respect time limits.

***IF YOU ARE ONLY AUDITIONING FOR ANTIGONE, YOU ARE TO PREPARE:

One classical monologue of one minute or less. Please respect time limits. By "classical," the director means the Greeks through Moliere and Restoration.

*IF YOU CANNOT MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT/NEED TO CHANGE IT:

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO MAKE YOUR SCHEDULED AUDITION APPOINTMENT, PLEASE USE THE SIGN-UP LIST TO CANCEL YOUR TIME SO THAT ANOTHER STUDENT MAY FILL THE SPOT. THE SITE ALSO GIVES YOU THE ABILITY TO CHANGE YOUR TIME.

DO NOT JUST "NO SHOW"--A PROFESSIONAL DOES NOT DO THAT. AND YOU ARE ALL STRIVING TO BE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS. A THEATRE OR PRODUCTION COMPANY WILL REMEMBER THAT YOU DID THAT. IT WILL REFLECT QUITE BADLY ON YOU.

CALLBACKS

Callbacks for roles in Peter and the Starcatcher will take place on Monday, May 1 from 6:00p - 9:00p in RTFP Studio Theatre. This callback will involve reading assigned sides from the script.

Callbacks for Antigone will take place on Sunday April 30 from 2:00p - 5:00p, in RTFP Studio Theatre. The callback will involve reading assigned sides from the script.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

Only theatre majors and minors are eligible to audition for Dance and Theatre productions. Since work on any production requires a serious time commitment, no student may participate in a theatre production while on academic probation (below a 2.0 GPA).

If you are cast in a show, your GPA will be checked; you will be asked to accept your role; and, upon your acceptance, you will be enrolled in REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE FOR STAGE (THEA 4600) by the Department Advisor.
