BA in Dance with Teacher Certification

The B.A. program in dance is designed to prepare students for a professional career in performance, choreography, teaching, dance medicine, or movement sciences, and are a sound preparation for admission to graduate study in dance or obtaining teacher certification.

A minor in Dance consists of 18 semester hours.

Marketable skills for these degrees include interpersonal, cognitive, and applied skill areas, that are valued by employers, and are primary or complementary to the major. The marketable skills goal was designed to help students articulate their skills to employers. UNT's marketable skills were faculty-developed and approved by employers or discipline-specific agencies, e.g., internship providers, chamber of commerce, workforce development boards, and other workforce-related entities. NOTE: The Bachelor of Arts (BA) with a major in Dance will not be accepting new students after August 26, 2022 as the Dance major is being phased out. Dance courses to complete a robust minor will continue to be offered. Students wanting to major in dance at UNT must apply and be admitted to the program by August 26, 2022 and will have until the end of Summer term 2028 to complete the major.
