Sally Nystuen Vahle is Associate Professor of Acting and Voice. She is a professional actress with more than 40 professional theatrical shows to her credit. Over the past 30 years, she has performed at professional theaters across the United States. She received her BFA degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and her MFA degree from Southern Methodist University. Sally is a member of the Brierley Resident Acting Company at the Dallas Theater Center. She has appeared in shows at the Dallas Theater Center since 1992. Favorite's productions include: Angels in America, Parts I&II, An Ideal Husband, The Collected Works of Billy the Kid, Crumbs from the Table of Joy, God of Carnage, Cabaret, Clybourne Park and Medea. In 2016 she appeared at the Dallas Theater Center in a ground breaking, gender-bending production of A Christmas Carol as "Scrooge".

In addition to her work as an actress at theatre's across the country, she is a founding member of Dallas' renowned Kitchen Dog Theater.

Ms.Vahle works extensively as an actress in the voice over, film and television industries and is represented by The Mary Collins Agency. She was a company member on the PBS series Wishbone, appearing in more than 15 episodes. Her work on Wishbone garnered her an Emmy nomination.

Sally is a Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship recipient and has received many awards and honors over the years for her work as an actress, including multiple "Leon Rabin", "Observer Best of", "D" Magazine", Critic's Forum Awards and Dallas Morning News "Best Actress Awards".

Sally is a recent recipient of more than 5 awards for her performance of Medea in Medea, at the Dallas Theater Center. She is also a 2015 Promethean Award recipient from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

In addition to teaching, Sally privately coaches and trains actors, business executives and lawyers in the Dallas Metroplex.

Sally's creative research focus encompasses all aspects of performance. Additional research interests include actor training in the 21st Century and 21st Century learners. She is a member of Actor's Equity Association.
