She is a recipient of a 2013 IAA Fellowship from the UNT Institute for the Advancement of the Arts to support her music inspired by Celtic mysticism.

As a composer, Ms. Queen creates music specifically designed to illuminate the visual poetry and enhance the creative voice of the choreographer. Her goal is to create uplifting, danceable, kinesthetic music that both moves the dancers physically and moves audiences emotionally. Her dance scores have toured the U.S., Ireland, England, Uruguay, & Taiwan. Her recent work has been performed by Von Howard Project at New York Live Arts; The Rochester City Ballet, in collaboration with choreographer Bill Evans, at the Arts Center of Nazareth College; Darrah Carr Dance at the NYC Irish Arts Center, and Ku & Dancers at the National Theatre of Taiwan in Taipei and Wei-Wu-Ying Center of the Arts in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

As a multi-instrumentalist dance musician, Ms. Queen uses piano, percussion, voice, electronic, stringed, blown, and world music instruments to create sophisticated, uplifting, kinesthetic music for dance. Her current research is integrating the concepts of Qi Gong, an ancient Chinese healing energy practice, into her music to foster health and longevity in dancers.

Ms. Queen has collaborated with over 250 dance instructors in NYC & Chicago professional studios such as the Merce Cunningham and Gus Giordano Studios, at universities throughout the US, in Ireland, China and Taiwan. She has been music faculty at the prestigious American Dance Festival (ADF) since 2006, and at ADF Henan in Xingxiang, China since 2011. She has also been a dance musician for the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Summer Dance Festival. She has performed with several noted American and international improvisational dance artists and has toured with the Taiwanese company, Ku & Dancers.

As Associate Professor of Music for Dance at UNT, she currently teaches Music for Dancers, Choreography I, and Composer/Choreographer Collaboration, and trains musicians in the art of dance accompaniment. She is a guest artist at universities throughout the U.S. and internationally.
